KINSALE UNDER 12S AT HOME TO STRAND
Kinsale 1 Bandon 5
We started with 5,4,1 formation with Gavin Wright playing his usual great game in goal. The defence was outstanding being lead by Liam Lanigan who was soundness personified. While mid-field had a very hard game to play they stood up to the challenge well and holding most of the possession, but failing to capitalize on the ground they covered. Mathew Rudak was unlucky not to score twice. Mean while Aodan Ogden was running his heart out and beat their defence a number of times but failed to finish. Kinsale were the better team in the first half and had plenty of opportunities and should have lead at half time. It ended 0-0 for the half. The second half Kinsale started well but Strand broke and had a shot at goal but Gavin Wright pulled off a great save (even Peter Czech would have been proud of). Shortly after that Strand broke the Kinsale defensive barrier (against the run of play) And scored much to Kinsales disappointment. Kinsale piled on the pressure but were unable to equalize. Up to the final whistle Kinsale had a lot of chances and were unlucky not to score. For the effort that was put in by all the players on the field on the day Kinsale deserved more but it was a big improvement by everyone.
Even down to help on the side with Cian Brown not getting a minutes rest all day (well done Cian) |
